1. チクチク指して、頭の形を作ります。

Make a head's shape.

2. 耳をつけます。

Put ears. 

The kit is from 12HKD shop in HK. 

3. 形を整えます。

Adjust the shape.

4.  Finished!

チェーンをつけて、USBのキーホルダーにしました。

レザートートバッグ作り方 - How to make a leather tote bag

Here's how I made a leather tote bag!

1. Skiving the leather by a knife.

革を漉きます。写真は漉いたときに出る革屑

2. Awwww bleeding! Please be careful when you skive the leather! 

刃物の扱いには気をつけましょう！早速指を切りました。笑

3. Punching before stitching. 

縫い穴を開けます。

4. Stitching. 100% hand stitched!

地道に全て手縫いです。

5. After stitching the bottom and a handle.

6. Stitch the other handle and the side of the bag. Completed!

レザークラフト ID カードホルダー作り方 - How to make leather ID cardholder

IDカードホルダーです。

友達へのプレゼントとして作って、喜んでもらえました。

友達の名前のイニシャルはKなので、右下にKと入れました。

I made this ID card holder for my friend whose initial is K, so you can see "K" on the right bottom.

①　透明の窓の部分を、革に縫い付けます。

Attach the transparent window to the leather. Yes, everything is hand stitched!

途中色々飛ばして.... 笑

Skip the procedures in the middle... and

②　完成！

レザークラフト 小物 - more leather craft

ここ数ヶ月で色々作りました！
最初のカードケースはもう色が飴色に変わっていい感じ。

他には、ペンケース、名刺入れ、ポーチ、 IDカードホルダー等。

徐々に作り方を紹介していきたいと思います！

革小物 レザークラフト - leather craft

プレゼントに、レザークラフトキットをもらいました。

名刺入れケース　とのこと。

レザークラフトは初めてですが、手芸とか工作は好きなので、キットを見ているとすぐ始めたくてむずむずしてきました。

早速挑戦してみました！

革は裁断済み、表面も処理済みなので、必要な作業の流れとしては以下の通り。


①革を貼り付ける。

②縫う為の穴を開ける。

③縫う




まず、パーツの貼り付け

猫みたいになってますね。マチの部分です。
家には手芸用のボンドしかなかったので、それを使いました。
カーブの部分はくっつくか心配だったのですが、結構つきますね。

縫う場所に穴を開けます。

この作業が結構楽しい。

縫います。

初めてなので、試行錯誤です。
全体の半分ぐらい縫ったら、縫い目をきれいに見せるコツが、やっと少しずつ分かってきましたが、それまでの縫い目はクネクネしてます。笑

それも愛嬌という事で・・・

制作に夢中になりすぎて、腰が痛くなりました。

ちゃんとした椅子とテーブルが必要だなぁ・・・

紅白御幣の作り方 - How to make gohei

御幣（ごへい）は、神道の祭祀で用いられ、例えば神社の注連縄（しめ縄）についていますね。

今回は粘土で作ったミニ鏡餅を飾るのが目的なので、見た目が豪華になる紅白の御幣にしました。
白が良い方は、両面白の紙をご利用下さい。

How to make red and white gohei. (Shinto zigzag-shaped paper streamer)

１．まず片面が赤、もう片面が白の長方形の紙を2枚用意。（例：赤の折り紙）

Prepare 2 sheets of rectangular papers.

One side is red, the other side is white e.g. a red origami paper.

２．切込みを入れ、折ります。

Cut papers and fold as shown.

３．もう1枚は反対から折りはじめて、

Make the other one. Start folding from the other side.

４．組み合わせます。

Combine them.

今回の場合作成サイズが小さい

＝　紙の重みがない。（紙も固め）

＝　折った部分が浮いてしまう　

→　糊止めしました。

（通常の御幣はもっと大きいため、自然に下に垂れるので、糊止めする必要はないです。）

Since this is much smaller than the one actually people use, I glued the folded parts to keep it flat and straight. The bigger one will naturally become straight because of the weight of the paper itself so it doesn't require glue.

６．きれいに垂れるように角度や位置の調整後、2枚を糊止めし、
Adjust the angle and position to make it look better and glue them.

７．飾ったら出来上がり。

Decorate it!

やっほー

なお、1枚の長方形から、左右が繋がった御幣を作る方法もありますが、それだとミニ鏡餅に飾る時、バランスよく飾る為の位置の微調整がしにくいので、左右1本ずつ作る方法にしました。

マカロンを作ってみました。

薄い青は、着色方法で紹介したのを使用しました。

鏡餅 - Japanese new year theme

鏡餅 - A traditional Japanese New Year decoration.

The white ones are rice cakes and a Japanese tangerine made of paper clay.

90% done! I'm adding more decoration to it.

Tools to start clay craft

1. Paints: 50 HKD

I'm using acrylic paints.

2. Clay: 12 HKD

Paper clay (Daiso soft clay) at 12 HKD shop at Jusco. You can find similar ones at bookstores or stationary shops. There are several colors, but the basic white one is OK because you can make different color by adding paints.


In addition to that, you can use things you may find in your house.

• Needle - to work on small parts, to dry parts etc.
• Paint brush
• Clear file or similar things - so that the clay doesn't stick on your table!
• Plastic bag or ziploc etc. - to store the leftover clay 
• Glue    etc...

Rirakkuma/鬆弛熊/リラックマ

紙粘土でリラックマ (紙黏土鬆弛熊)

The last month, suddenly I felt like to start clay crafting, so I headed to "JUSCO Living PLAZA" at North Point, Hong Kong. 

The JUSCO Living PLAZA used to be 10 HKD shop, which was equivalent to Japan's Daiso 100 yen shop. But after the Japanese yen appreciated, it became 12 HKD shop, so price-wise it's not as attractive as before, but it's just convenient.

Anyway, I bought a soft clay (white color) and a thin plastic cutting board with lines. I couldn't find any acrylic paint there, so I went to a local book store just across the street. That's one of things that I like about HK - convenient. Everything is so close each other and easy to find things.

The theme that I chose is "Rirakkuma".

If you don't know what's "Rirakkuma", you can google it or find the informaiton on wiki too. 
It's quite popular in Hong Kong too. 

The Christmas is approaching, so I added a Christmas sock.

I'm thinking to make something from Japanese new year theme before mid December. Not much time left. I need to keep it up.



Clay craft is fun, and it doesn't cost much to start! Let's start making!
